A WOMAN has been whipped in front of the rest of the members of an indigenous community in Peru for being unfaithful to her husband.

The accused woman, whose husband is away working in Spain, had allegedly seduced her 20-year-old nephew.
A video of the public punishment shows the woman, in traditional indigenous dress bending over as one of the female leaders of the community lifts up her skirt and hits her backside with a stick.
"Bend over, stay still!", shouts her discipliner as she tries to move away from the blows, before another man runs over to hold her in place.
The woman bends over again, though she continues to flinch as her behind is savagely whipped.

The 20-year-old nephew was also beaten afterwards, not for the adultery but because he attempted to climb into what he thought was her house in order to rescue her and was spotted and accused of being a burglar.
According to one of the young women living in the house, they found the young man on their property at around 5am.
They decided to give him the beating, saying "why else would he be there if not to rob us?"

The owners savagely beat the man with wooden sticks and left his face badly disfigured.
The young man however said he was looking for his lover to rescue her, but had apparently entered the wrong house.
The public flogging took place in the community in the Cajamarca region in the northern Andes.

Spanking and caning are the best ways to get obedience from those needing punishment
